by Tigre Bailando for Electric Forest | Rothbury, MI | June 2018
My crew created several new elements for Tigre’s sculpture garden installation, including the multi-faced, twelve-handed beauty “Our Lady of Infinite Compassion” and her shrine, hand-cast guiding spirits we called the “Lil Forest Frenz,” selected quote signs, and new benches for “Tetra” — each June pieces of the Jardin are left to become part of the forest, and then reinvigorated and added to the next year.
by Bamboo DNA for Global Eclipse Gathering | Ochoco National Forest, Oregon | August 2017
My team spent a month in the Oregon forest creating The Solar Temple - two incredible lumber structures and a terraced amphitheater - as an eclipse viewing space for the 40,000 attendees. Here’s glimpse into that beautiful, weird experience..
Andrea + Gareth | Big Sur, CA | September 2018
A beautiful, rustic wedding weekend with family and friends in a Redwood Forest on the coast to celebrate two madly in love weirdos.
Bailey Haack + Bamboo DNA | Joshua Tree, CA | April 2018
Welded steel and paper mache light sculptures my partner Bailey designed and created with the bamboo crew, as both stand alone installations and the decorative spire of a 40’ bamboo pagoda! And welding sparkle magic shots from our current installation fabrication process!
I've been working on the incredible crews that design and build the infrastructure for music festivals since 2014. These structures, stages, and art installations are awe-inspiring parts of a uniquely beautiful whole. My aim is to create a window to the wonderful weirdos who work tirelessly to make festival magic real.
People, sometimes doing things, sometimes not. All taken in natural light, I try to capture the subject’s genuine feeling in that place and moment
Photographing animals is a wonderful study in mindfulness and joy - they're always fully present in the moment. I love to show the bond animals have with their humans, and with nature - whether at the beach, in the forest, or exploring the backyard, I use natural settings and light to capture the simple happiness our pets experience and create.
After seeing first-hand the incredible dedication it takes to make festival magic real, watching folks explore and enjoy the spaces, art, and music is absolutely wonderful — here are a few of those moments
by S’more Art Co. + Open the Portal for Desert Daze Festival | Lake Perris, CA | October 2018
My partner Bailey and I collaborated with the creative dudes at Open the Portal to design and fabricate a 15’ wooden pyramid with a floating, glowing capstone and surreal landscape murals made of layered wood elements on all sides + two lil 5’ pyramids. It provided refuge during a freak lightning storm that our Desert landscape panel accidentally predicted. Check out S’more Art Co. for more info!
by O2 Treehouse | Santa Cruz, CA | July 2018
O2 Treehouse designed the surreal Pinecone Treehouse to seamlessly blend into the redwoods from which its suspended. Its gorgeous symmetry, location, and newly built bathroom below make for an unmatched glamping experience.
Adventures with my best friend. Seeing each new place we go become Maizie’s favorite in the world for that moment is my favorite thing. Shout out to Maizie Dog for being the best travel buddy and model
I’ve been working with O2 Treehouse for several years, and the creativity, cohesion with nature, and simple architectural beauty O2 brings to each of their projects never ceases to amaze me!
Portland Winter Lights Festival, Portland, February 2018
A free community arts festival featuring a variety of amazing, interactive light art installations scattered throughout Portland to draw people out of their winter hibernation and create art exposure opportunities for anyone who may not have easy access to it in their daily lives.
I’ve been lucky to explore a tiny sprinkling of the wonders this planet has to offer, here are some shots spanning the South Pacific to Patagonia to the Pacific Northwest
Kuma Sushi + Sake | San Francisco, CA | October 2017
The most delicious, thoughtfully-selected sushi I have ever had the privilege to photograph and then eat.
Mostly macro shots of flowers - I really like flowers
